web2 (~) euforic
current issues, food for thought, background information

The current 'web2.0' revolution under way is fundamentally transforming the way we use the Web. The web is “shifting from being a medium in which information is transmitted and consumed, into being a platform in which content is created, shared, remixed, repurposed, and passed along.” (Downes, S. “E-Learning 2.0”)

So-called 'web 2.0' tools are particularly powerful to aggregate and mobilize content on specific issues – and to get it on the electronic desks of users worldwide. They also offer massive scope for organizations to cooperate to better serve their constituencies.

At Euforic, we work with our members and other partners to bring together and re-disseminate information on international cooperation, mixing up different sources and perspectives, and providing content in several languages. In doing this, we use various approaches and tools, including blogs, wikis, newsfeeds, social bookmarks, dgroups, podcasting, photos and presentation sharing tools, as well as shared calendars and search tools. These allow us to work much more efficiently and at very low cost, tracking, presenting, and sharing information on different themes and countries.

Our web site wants you to subscribe to, and re-use, its content - through newsreaders and email, by publishing it on your own web sites, or by mixing and combining its content to create completely new products.

web2share initiative

The 'new' social web ('web 2.0') that we are embarking on is fast moving and requires that we keep updated on the most efficient ways to work, and sort out which services save time and which take time.

In 2007 we launched our web2share initiative - a series of awareness and training sessions with members and other organizations.
